Her Sri Lankan origin and New Zealand citizenship have afforded her opportunities to imbibe the culture and lifestyle of both countries and her role as a visual merchandiser and stock manager at a commercial organisation provides her opportunities to be involved with people.
There have of course been many other avenues for her social and community interaction over the years.
As the First Runner-Up at the Miss Indianz contest two years ago (Indian Newslink, September 15, 2011) and later as the winner at the Miss Talent Contest, she has had several opportunities to mix with people of diverse interests.
Yet, Minra considers her family as the most important factor in her life.
“Everyone at home and all other relatives in the family have been supportive of my pursuits. They have always encouraged me to excel in everything that I do,” she said.
Minra said she loves playing and participating in indoor and outdoor soccer.
She is a striker and a midfielder for the ‘Nae Nae Women’s League,’ and is justifiably proud of her achievement as the ‘Under 25 Female Player of the Year’ in 2012.
Minra has a passion for car and dotes over her ‘Hot Pink’ Honda Civic.
“I am waiting to do an engine conversion with a faster motor. I was delighted when my car caught the attention of local newspapers and ‘Woman’s Day’ magazine. I hope to have my own fully modified street-performance car,” she said.
