Nasinu looks for flying colours

The Nasinu Soccer Club, with its distinctive Cyan Blue and Purple colours, is confident of coming out in flying hues at the ensuing Fiji Soccer Cup Tournament.

The Club has an impressive record of good soccer players, partly because of the dynamic leadership of Shaheed and partly because of the interest shown by officials and supporters. Families and friends attend regular meetings to foster amity and spirit of unity.

Established in 1995, the Club has been an enthusiastic participant in all NZ Fiji Football Association Tournaments.

The past two years have been eventful for the Nasinu Soccer Club and officials hope that the success achieved at matches would enable the team to vie for top honours at the prestigious Radio Apna Fiji Soccer Cup 2011. The Team boasts of a judicious mix of old and young players.

Apisalome Turuva, Waisake Sabutu, Jope Lomu, Vanuatu Striker Seule Soromon, Young All Whites Jack Hobson-McVeigh, Imran Shah, Amit Narayan and Fadeel Khan are among the players with promise.

Imran Shah played for the Auckland City Youth Team at the ASB Youth League during the 2010-2011 season.

“He and Amit are among the favourites of top clubs in Auckland for the Winter League Season. Amit’s younger brother Anish (a member of the Nasinu Team) was a player in the Fiji Under 17s Team at the Oceania World Cup qualifier matches held recently in Auckland,” Shaheed said.

Head Coach Paul Hobbs (who is also the First Team Coach of Birkenhead United, Assistant Coach Muntaz Shahl, Manager Izaz Hussein and Assistant Manager Yasin Mohammed are hopeful that the Nasinu Team will perform well.
