Nazneen Daruwalla, Director of ‘Alter Me,’ has come a long way in establishing herself as a young businesswoman.

Whilst completing her Bachelor of Arts (Major in Fashion Design) at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design, she interned with well-known fashion designers and companies, to name a few; Karen Walker, Amber Whitecliffe and Thom Dolan, a designer based in New York, USA.

Specialist business

During her internship, she advanced her knowledge in collaborating collections, textile applications and above all, establishing herself when it comes to launching a clothing label. Soon after graduating, Nazneen started her own business, ‘Alter Me,’ which specialises in design, dressmaking, sampling and clothing alterations.

‘Alter Me’ produces well-tailored outfits that fit you perfectly.

Located in Pakuranga, Auckland, it offers a wide range of services that help you step out in confidence, whether it is an old favourite piece in your wardrobe that needs spicing up or a completely new designer look!

Global events

Nazneen has created designer wear for Miss Universe World and Miss India contestants.

Their wardrobes were well recognised and were offered professional photo-shoots.

She was also asked to promote a collection of Designer Indian wear at charity events such as Fiji Woman’s Shelter and tailored, western collection at Dove House Fundraiser and Gig Alive Charity.

‘Alter Me’ plans to collaborate with young and up-coming designers in the near future and work alongside them in creating and making their designer collections.

‘Alter Me’ will be a reliable source for designers to get their production work completed.

When asked what drives her in this industry, Nazneen stated, “I am always wanting to learn and grow, and it is that hunger that makes me want to push myself to seek more knowledge in my field, gain further experience and take up any challenge in the fashion industry.”
