Need for more inclusive reporting

I am greatly honoured and indeed delighted to congratulate Indian Newslink on its Eleventh Anniversary.

This Newspaper has emerged from humble beginnings to provide up-to-date news and current affairs predominantly for the migrant communities of New Zealand, whether such communities are from India, Fiji, Pakistan, or other South East Asian countries.

Over the past eleven years, the Newspaper has steadily grown and now dominates the Indian news front. It has grown from strength to strength and has displayed a sense of resilience based on, amongst other qualities, its impartial and yet balanced approach to journalism.

The Newspaper shows an apparent conscientious reporting style, which has not only enhanced its image but also compares well with similar reporting seen in other community based English medium in New Zealand.

It would be amiss of me not to expound the benefits that Indian Newslink has had with its Editor Venkat Raman, a journalist of international repute. He has been the key resource person, who diligently works hard to maintain its overall standard and professionalism.

I wish Indian Newslink the best of luck in its future endeavours. I expect that it will continue to further extend and excel in its reporting of matters within the New Zealand Indian community and reporting matters of interest and current affairs within the wider communities of New Zealand.
