New Bazaar brings India to us

Visitors to India Big Bazaar located in Papatoetoe will not only be awe-struck by the extensive and expansive range of products but also be attracted by their prices, kept at their possible low end to serve our communities.

From music instruments, toys and novelties and handicrafts, home and kitchenware to clothing, imitation jewellery and herbal products to Pooja items and those conforming to Islam are available at this showroom at 302 Great South Road.

Directors Vikram Madaan and his wife Payal are perfect partners at home and in business, each with a passion to enhance choice and promote high standards of quality and personalised service.

Whether successful partnership of men and women at home replicates in business has often been a subject of debate and the Indian community is increasingly providing evidence in affirmation.

Mr & Mrs Madaan adequately demonstrate their spirit of oneness of thought and action in managing the business and enabling customers to get the best.

They also share a vision of continued success and win-win situation for everyone involved, including the communities and the country.

Mr Madaan, a mechanical engineer by qualification brings precision to business, while his wife, a qualified and full-time teacher brings discipline and orderliness to the showroom and its operations.

Even before migrating to New Zealand about eight years ago (to provide better education and lifestyle for their children) from their native India, Mr Madaan was exporting garments to Russia and Europe.

Super Indian market

‘India Kraft,’ was their first enterprise (at Hunters Plaza), which, he said was “the first Indian shop in a shopping centre in New Zealand.” Its success encouraged him to open three branches, one each in New Lynn (Lynn Mall), Otahuhu and Henderson.

“We decided to establish India Bazaar to offer more and better products to the communities. This would perhaps be the largest Indian Departmental Store in New Zealand. It will offer a wider choice to people,” Mr Madaan said.

The new stores retails clothing for men, women and children, sarees, suits for women, beauty products, gift ideas, kitchenware, handcrafted furniture, Pooja items, religious books, carpets and rugs and many more items.

“We import these products directly from India, China, Thailand, Dubai, US and other countries. The market is fiercely competitive and hence we work hard to provide products that are better in quality and price,” Mr Madaan said.

India Big Bazaar has a branch of Relianz Forex Limited, adding a new dimension to retailing in New Zealand.
