Ninety Years of Country life in Gordonton

The Country Section New Zealand Indian Association (CSNZIA) celebrated its 90th Anniversary on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Gordonton Hall, Gordonton.

President Madan Jeet Singh Bange paid tributes to the pioneers who transformed their dream into reality by forming such powerful and dedicated organisations like CSNZIA, New Zealand Indian Central Association (NZICA) and New Zealand Sikh Society.

NZICA President Bhikhu Bhana highlighted the dedication, hard work and steadfastness of CSNZIA, NZICA and their members to uplift the fortunes of Indians in New Zealand.

NZICA Past-President Ashok Darji listed the achievements of NZICA and Country Section. Vice-President Hardial Singh Deo thanked the gathering.

There was good response from the members, families, friends and local bodies.

All the local MPs were present at the event.

Rupinder Singh Virk and Satwant Kaur were Masters of Ceremonies.

Among the other members of the Executive Committee present were Jujhar Singh Randhawa (General Secretary), Jagroop Singh Minhas (Treasurer) and Amarjit Singh Minhas (Assistant Secretary), Rupinder Singh Virk (Past-President).

The cultural programme highlighted Punjabi culture and tradition.

A booklet outlining the history and activities of CSNZIA was released to mark the 90th anniversary celebrations.
