One by one, Quartet set for the record

If you were a teenager in the early 1960s, you would know that it was the passion for music and success that catapulted The Beatles to dizzy heights of fame.

They of course had talent and good marketing agents.

It could be a similar story for Crimson Rain, an Auckland based four-man band, established just five months ago (May 2010) and if its early achievements are any indication, it will flow into many parts of the world, immersing enthusiasts and fans in melody and rhythm.

The Group has cross-border connection with Indo-Fijian Avi Pranish (Lead Guitarist), Malaysian Chinese Ben Lee (Bass), New Zealander Matt Bunce (Drums) and Malaysian Indian Pras Kumar (Vocalist and Guitarist).

Crimson Rain already boasts of its first Extended Play Album Demo, One by One.

“Music is our passion and we embrace the post-grunge era with heavy distortions, elegant solos, head-banging riffs, powerful beats and impressive sounds. Music should captivate the mind and the heart,” Avi said.

With a number of shows to their credit in Auckland, the group is set to make waves elsewhere in the country.

Why Crimson Rain?

Avi said Tears of Blood influenced them initially.

“Rain varies in intensity and form, similar to our style, which draws inspiration from rock, grunge, flamenco and baroque. Our lyrics deal with the emotions associated with the journey from adolescence to adulthood, hope in the darkest of times and appreciate the fact that individuals are not alone in their struggle,” he said.

Avi, Ben, Matt and Pras began their onward journey in August with the release of their first EP called One by One, incorporating Break, their first single.

The album appears to have found its niche in the market and hit the ‘ReverbNation’ Chart and social networking sites.

The Group plans to release its next album in 2011, following a performance tour of Malaysia, Singapore and India.

“The songs would vary in intensity, inspired by Grunge and Rock to Ballads and Flamenco. This would represent our aim to become an international act and enable us to pursue our dream of doing what we love the most in life, namely music,” Avi said.

As well as making a difference in their lives and career, members of Crimson River are keen to make their concerts a unique experience for their fans.
