Pageant winner for Indian Princess contest

One of the young beauties of Auckland would be among at least 19 others from around the world vying for an international title in Mumbai next month.

Shiona Ram, who was declared First Runner Up at the Miss Indianz 2010 held on August 7 that year at the Auckland Town Hall (Indian Newslink, August 15, 2010), will be the representative of Reshab D Productions at the ‘Miss Indian Princes Pageant’ due to be held in the Bollywood capital on March 8, 2013, commemorating ‘International Women’s Day.’

The grand finale of the fourth annual event will be held at Hotel Tulip Star, located at Nariman Point in Mumbai, and would feature beauty, fashion and entertainment.

Contestants would include beauty contest winners from Australia, Denmark, India, Italy, Malaysia, Mauritius, New Zealand, South Africa, Uganda and other countries.

New dimension

According to Sunil Rane, Chairman of Indian Princes International Limited, which organises the Pageant, this year’s contest will add a new dimension to ‘Indian Princess International.”

“The finale will have sequences of Indian Princess (from India) and Indian Princess (People of Indian origin from other countries) in designer showcases. There would also be performances by celebrities of Bollywood and guests from Thailand and other Countries.

“A special dance presented by Indian princes and Indian Princes International finalists, question and answer sessions for the top five finalists of both the Pageants will be among the highlights,” he said.

Twenty countries, including South Africa, Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, U.K, U.S.A, Malaysia, Mauritius, Uganda, New Zealand, India and Italy, will be represented at Indian Princes International.

Shiona, a qualified nurse, said that she was looking forward to the contest,

“I want to make my mother, people at home, my peers and elders proud of my achievements. I would work hard to realise my goals in life,” she said.
