For the first time in five years, WWW4Peace (Women Walk and Work for Peace) is extending its Peace Walk and celebration of International Women’s Day to Auckland.

This year, WWW4Peace, IWPG (International Women’s Peace Group) and the newly established Nirvana Foundation have come together to organise the one-day event.

Parity Pledge

The theme for the 2016 IWD is ‘Pledge for Parity.’ It is an opportunity for Auckland to celebrate not only the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women but also to see where the progress of parity is slow.

We invite you to the event on March 8, 2016 at 11 am and join us for a Peace March from Britomart to Auckland University Student Quad and Albert Park after speeches from dignitaries and NGO’s for a Peace Picnic.

Continuing the momentum from the four previous Peace events in Wellington, we are keen to foster and raise awareness for the Culture of Peace in Auckland.

Your patronage of the event is important to encourage participation, advocacy, immersion and support for various groups which are already doing valuable peace work for empowering women, supporting work against violence on women and childrenprotest against wars.

Donations welcome

We welcome donations as money, food and beverages for the Peace Picnic. Your support will help in bringing people at work to stirring our city towards a culture of peace.
