Police name the deceased in Papatoetoe property

The Police have released the names of the couple who were found dead at a property in the South Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe on Monday, December 30, 2019.

They are Riki Nath (34) and Sherine Nath (32).

A four-year-old boy, presumably their son, is still in a critical condition at the hospital.

Their deaths have been referred to the Coroner.

Detective Inspector Colin Higson said that Police inquiries are going on and that police officers are at the property located at Sunnyside Crescent, Papatoetoe.

“Our deepest thoughts are with her family and friends at this time,” he said.

About the incident

The Police received a report shortly after 950 am on Monday, December 30, 2019 stating that a body had been found inside the property.

Police attended the address and located the body of a woman inside a bedroom. A child was also located in the room with critical injuries and he has been transported to Starship Hospital.

A further search of the address revealed the body of a man who was located deceased inside the property’s garage.

Police are working to establish the circumstances and piece together what has occurred.

A scene examination is underway and the address has been cordoned.

Inspector Higson had said on December 30, 2019 that they were not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.
