The need to encourage, promote and reward achievers in sports has been emphasised by Rohit Deo, Managing Director of A1 Safety &Packaging, based in Otahuhu, Auckland.
He said that commercial entities must be involved in projects such as the Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards.
“These Awards serve a unique purpose of motivating people not only to pursue sporting activities but also remain physically fit. This is important in the modern world of stress and busy lifestyle,” he said.
Mr Deo said that his Company decided to sponsor ‘The Best Veterans Soccer Player of the Year’ category since Soccer is popular with Fijians.
“The game is played by the young and old and is being encouraged by clubs and associations. We are proud to be associated with Indian Newslink,” Mr Deo said.
He said that his Company’s QIWI brand has become popular.
“We offer a wide variety of products including tissues, toilet paper and serviettes. We are continuously expanding our range not only to serve our existing customers but also potential clients. We are currently working on a new line of Qiwi bio-degradable products,” he said.
According to him, A1 Safety &Packaging has a wide range, including specialised packaging machinery products.
The range extends to individually designed products such as gusseted furniture bags, mattress covers and tailor-made, shaped box covers.
The Company’s Norfolk Polythene Converters manufactures polythene bags in all shapes and sizes, used in an extensive range of industries from commercial laundry to pharmaceuticals.
