Sai Baba devotees plan special prayers

Sai Baba Devotees- Satya Sai Baba.jpgSatya Sai Service Organisation (SSSO) will conduct a ‘Padhuka Puja’ on July 25, commemorating Guru Purnima.

The event, scheduled to begin at 2 pm at the Hindu Heritage Centre (2/30 Bukem Place, Off Gadsby Road in the Manukau (South Auckland) suburb of Mangere, will bring together a large number of men and women who will pay obeisance to their favourite Sai Baba.

Says Pravin Patel, an organiser of the event: “There is only one God, although He may be known by several names. Sai Baba has declared that we must have full faith in God and worship Him with a sense of Oneness.

“Padhuka (or ‘Paduka’) Puja follows the tradition set in the great Epic Ramayan, in which Bharata takes the footwear of Lord Rama as a symbol of leadership and rule during the latter’s absence in the forest.”

SSSO National President Dough Saunders, Regional Chair Ravi Chelvan and Mangere Chair Mathew Reddy will recount their experiences and speak about the significance of the programme, followed by Prayers and Aarti.

Further details can be obtained from Pravin Patel on (09) 3023448 or 021- 2460700.
