Saibaba Sansthan elects new team

Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan of New Zealand Inc has elected Bhaskara Reddy Duvvuru to the post of President at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on November 23, 2013 at its new premises on 12 Princess Street, Onehunga in Auckland.

Shivani Arora retained her role as Vice-President.

Among the others elected were Amar Alluri and Ravi Vaddagiri, respectively to the posts of Secretary and Treasurer.

The AGM also elected the following to its Executive Committee: Balachander Shingade, Laxman Murthy Sunkari, Madhukanth Jogia, Ramanathan Murugesu, Rashmi Patel, Ravi Pondicherry, Ravi Vemulapalli, Renu Garineni, Sainath Nethula, Thulasi Krishna and Venkateswarlu Kodali

There were no contestants to any of the posts and hence election was unanimous.

The new Committee has taken charge at a time that is crucial for the Sansthan, with its multimillion dollar Temple complex nearing completion.

Impressive facilities

When complete, the Temple will be one of the best and most extensive in the world, with a huge prayer hall, a smaller prayer room, a community centre with sound, lights and other equipment, and a dining hall with kitchen, cooking and catering facilities.

Construction jobs, which involved conversion of an existing warehouse to a purpose-built facility occupying floor area of 3685 Sq Metres (on a plot of 2975 Sq Metres), have attracted donations from members and devotees who consider this as their dream project.

Mr Duvvuru, who has held the presidential post previously, said that the formal inaugural function of the Temple will be held on February 9, 2014.

Chandra Bahanu Sathpathy will conduct the religious ceremony.

“Our long-term objective is to reduce the mortgage and repay the bank loan,” he said.
