Saibaba Temple Project moves forward

Indian Newslink readers are aware that Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan of NZ Inc has purchased 1960 sq mts high roof warehouse on 2975 sq mts of land at 12-18 Princes Street in Onehunga, Auckland.

Excitement is building as the Sansthan is gearing up for Bhoomi Pooja (Ground Breaking Ceremony) scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 to convert this property into a Temple for Shirdi Saibaba, with additional facilities including a community hall.

A number of other Deities will also adorn the Temple.

The Bhoomi Pooja is a positive step towards the fulfillment of a long cherished dream of the Sansthan members and other devotees of Shirdi Saibaba.

“We are excited that there would be an abode for our beloved ‘Sadguru Shirdi Sainath’ and a place for meetings and community events,” they said.

Special Programme

The Sansthan is organising an auspicious function over the long weekend coinciding with ‘Waitangi Day’ so that all the devotees can participate in the two-day event.

The Sansthan will perform four Arathis and Abhishekam for Baba along with Ganesha and Navagraha Homam and Bhoomi Puja between 10 am and 1230 pm on February 4. Parameswaran (popularly known as Chandru) Gurukkal of Shri Ganesha Temple in Papakura will conduct the religious function.

I am privileged to have been blessed, along with our Committee Member Rajiv Keth by Guruji Shri Chandra Bhanu Satpathi ji in New Delhi on November 26, 2011. He gave us four silver coins of Baba to be used at the Bhoomi Puja.

Pandit Upendrabhai Joshi of Balmoral Temple (Auckland) will perform ‘‘Vishnu Yaag’ between 9 am and 1230 pm on February 5. We are arranging for about 200 couples to participate in the Yaag.

The Sansthan has received a ‘Shanku’ specially carved (in accordance with the ‘Agama Sasthra’) by chief stapathi of the Tirumala Triupathi Devasthanam for use at the Bhoomi Pooja.

Donation drive

We have launched a Major Donor scheme to raise funds for the Project.

We hope that 108 Major Donors would contribute $ 10,001, payable in installments.

We propose to install 108 small statues of Baba, representing his 108 Asthothara Nama and the name of the donor in the Temple.
