Shopping Centres offer convenience, competition

One of the most significant aspects of urban life in New Zealand is the proliferation of shopping malls and town centres, offering a host of retailing, supermarket and eating out options. Over the years, these malls and centres have grown to include a wide range of other businesses such as commercial banks, insurance services, beauty parlours and many others.

Together, these have spoiled the average customer for choice.

While malls and centres abound in all major cities, Auckland, with its huge population (more than 1,2 million) and diverse ethnic groups, has been a challenge to retailers. With malls and shopping centres in almost every corner of major areas of business and residence, wholesalers and retailers entice customers with special offers, discounts and other incentives. A visitor therefore called Auckland as a ‘City of Sails’ and as a ‘City of Sales’.

The Lambie Plaza on Lambie Drive near the Manukau City Centre is illustrative of the surge in shopping avenues on the one hand and the variety of products and services available on the other. Despite a number of major supermarkets and retailers rivalling in the neighbourhood, Lambie Plaza has held to its own, adding to the thrill and fun of shopping.

The combination of special sale prices and favourable exchange rates for many overseas visitors means that bargains are not hard to find.

The Lambie Plaza is a proud home for a number of commercial activities ranging from dress materials, dresses, retailers marketing inexpensive but quality goods, service professionals and eateries. Each of them does their best to attract and retain clients.

Contrary to popular belief, people belonging to higher income groups and upper end of the consumer market also find such shopping centres extensive with goods and services and good value for money.

According to an advisory, some of the best retail therapy is available in modern sophisticated boutique shops in such centres.

You would also discover retailers and product and service providers at Lambie Plaza relaxed and eager to satisfy customers, as they are not hassled by the tough environment in busier commercial districts.

With ample car park and other facilities, you too would be relaxed while shopping for your favourite items or enjoying snacks or lunch with your family and friends.
