Spontaneity brings joy in life

Model of the Fortnight

Spontaneity develops positive factors in people, making them responsive to events and circumstances, as it has done to Vandhana (aka Dana) Naidu, our First Model of the Fortnight for the New Year.

“I am a highly spontaneous individual and this has made my journey in life very enjoyable and I have had experiences that have helped me grow as a woman and gain independence and confidence. I value new experiences and love to take on new opportunities,” she said.

Travel buff

Born and raised in New Zealand, the keen interest that she developed towards travelling and tourism in her formative years took her to the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), where she obtained a graduate (Bachelor) degree in Tourism Studies with Business as a major subject in 2010.

A year later, she joined the Otago University in Dunedin to complete a Graduate Diploma in Management.

“I have always had a passion to travel, see new places, meet new people and understand and experience new cultures,” she said.

Hidden interest

Dana said that her ‘hidden interest’ in photographic modelling and the opportunity to work with ace photographer Bhikhu Bhula resulted in what she called, ‘several great images in several settings.’

She said that her spirit of adventure took her to Wellington in March 2014.

Employed in a Ministry as HR Administrator, she has set her immediate career goal of becoming a Senior HR Advisor. She had previously worked in commercial airline companies.

“I love Wellington and its Coffee!” she exclaimed, added that working out in the gym, sports and socialising are her favourite hobbies.

“I promote a healthy and active lifestyle and want to help others achieve their fitness goals by becoming a part-time Personal Trainer in the future,” Dana said, and signed off with a quote from Marilyn Monroe: “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world!”
