Sports Awards entries encouraging

Contrary to the popular belief that entries to competitions are submitted just minutes before closure, community response to the Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards 2012 has been extremely encouraging.

These are still early days, but if the number of entries and inquiries received thus far is any indication, we can then expect a solid representation of contestants in all the categories.

However, it is important that the contestants follow the rules and regulations that govern the Awards Scheme. The contest is open to sportsmen and sportswomen of Indian origin, as defined by the Indian government (People of Indian Origin are those who are eligible to obtain ‘Person of Indian Origin Card’ or ‘Overseas Citizenship of India’ status).

Each player under each category must be endorsed by a sports club or association in the official entry form. Entries from individuals will not be considered.

For entry forms and other details, contact Ravin Lal, Managing Director and Publisher, Indian Newslink on (09) 5336377 or on mobile 021-753699. Email: ravin@indiannewslink.co.nz

Completed forms must be sent by email only to smiityswv72@yahoo.co.nz on or before 6 pm on April 8, 2012.

Entries sent by any other means to any other address will not be considered.

The decision of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this connection.

Steven Smith is Counties Manukau Police Sergeant and Convenor of the Panel of Judges of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2012.
