As the convener of the independent Panel of Judges of Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards 2016, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who have filed their nominations. On behalf of my colleagues on the Panel and Indian Newslink, I would like to inform our readers of an amendment to the Awards Presentation Ceremony.
Indian Newslink has established good reputation for its high quality and high profile Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards and Indian Newslink Sir Anand Satyanand Lecture. In the same spirit, the newspaper set out to make the Sports Awards project bigger and better and is committed to deliver on this promise.
Motivating factors
After much deliberation, the Organising Committee, in consultation with the Panel of Judges, agreed to postpone the Sports Awards Ceremony to December.
One of the major factors that influenced the decision to postpone was availability of Guests of Honour and the venue. These meant shifting the dates beyond June. In view of other pre-determined events in July and November 2016, and in order to present a quality event, we have moved the Sports Awards to early December.
We assure all entrants and nominators that the entries received will be honoured and each of them will be contacted later in the year to update their entries.
Better Event
We have in fact informed all nominators individually. Many of them informed us that they agreed with our decision to postpone since the weather conditions would also be more friendly.
We will announce details of the event in due course.
Please accept our apologies once again for this inevitable postponement and we look forward to your continued support and patronage.
Meanwhile, please enjoy your sports, give it your best and achieve greater heights! Then get your nomination in so we can give you public recognition for it.
