The band on the Shore rocks

A musical group that has begun to make waves rocked the stage at a show in North Shore City last fortnight.

‘Nasha,’ a multicultural band of singers and dancers presented ‘Bollywood on the Shore’ at the Murray Bay Intermediate School on August 25.

“We expected the auditorium to be packed to capacity but had to be content with a lesser crowd, mainly because of the Bledisloe Cup (Rugby) match held that night. We are happy that we were able to entertain the audience and raise about $500o for the School,” Mark Pinto de Menezes, leader of the Group said.

“We presented a number of popular numbers including ‘Chammak Challo’ (Ra One), ‘Desi Girl’ (Dostana), ‘Bhaag Dk Bose’ (Delhi Belly), ‘Auntyji’ (Ek Mein Aur Ekk Tu), ‘Subah Honay Na De’ (Desi Boyz), ‘Pehla Nasha’ (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar), ‘Senorita’ (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) and ‘Pretty Woman’ (Kal Ho Na Ho). We will be performing at the Diwali Festival at Aotea Square next month,” Mark said.
