The Winterless North beckons you

The Bay of Islands is a magnificent wonder of beauty, history and culture all rolled in one place. Comprising 144 Islands and a handful of historic towns, the Bay of Islands has stunning scenery, golden beaches and fresh produce, making it one of the most prominent tourist destinations in New Zealand.

Located at just over three hours’ drive from Auckland in the ‘winterless north’, the Bay of Islands is a popular destination for fishing and water-related activities.

Chapters from History

It is also home to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, an award winning cultural heritage attraction and New Zealand’s most important historic site. The Treaty Grounds feature Te Kōngahu Museum of Waitangi, the Treaty House, the carved Meeting House and the world’s largest ceremonial war canoe.

Beginning our journey in Russell, moving to Paihia, and wrapping our tour in Waitangi, we have visited some of the oldest sites as well as the newest, and learnt about the earliest days of colonisation to the current times of immigration.

The birth of a Nation

This little part of Aotearoa triggered the birth of our nation, and the locals are proud of this fact in showcasing this region and sharing their legacy with other New Zealanders and the rest of the world.

We encourage our readers to visit the Bay of Islands and experience Kiwi paradise for themselves!
