The secret about how Te Kauwhata is a great place to live is getting out, with many people from Auckland, Franklin and Hamilton moving to the area and a lot more growth is likely to come over the coming year with Waerenga Estate now on the market.

Schick Construction will be starting civil works onsite this week so the current signs for Lots 1-8 will be coming down as earthworks commence.

Peoples Westport Development Limited has now become the owner of Waerenga Estate and Pat Peoples is the owner and director.

Pat also owns Schick Construction in Hamilton.

The builders are Craig Ryan and Ben Latham both from Hamilton and the architect is Evan Mayo from the Architecture Bureau, also based in Hamilton.

McAlley Group are doing the project management and Rutherford Project Management are the quantity surveyors. McCracken Surveyors designed the subdivision and Dave has had over 30 years of experience designing residential subdivisions in the Waikato area.

Desirable Place

Te Kauwhata is becoming a desirable place to move to and have a great lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of city living.

Prices in Auckland are at an all-time high and Pokeno is now 35-50% higher priced than Te Kauwhata, making it a popular alternative, particularly for first homebuyers starting out in the property market wanting a nice community to bring up their family and those looking to downsize from larger homes and higher priced areas to free up money for retirement.

The Rangiriri section of the Waikato Expressway is currently under construction and will be completed in 2017 and the northern section between Auckland in 2018, decreasing the travel time between Te Kauwhata and Auckland. The section between Hamilton will be completed in 2019. This will add to the demand for properties in Te Kauwhata and make it even more attractive for commuters to both cities and add value to properties in the area and growth for local businesses as more people move to Te Kauwhata.
