Members of the Indian community will join thousands of Rugby fans as the Wellington Phoenix play Melbourne Victory on what promises to be a ‘Great A-League Clash.’
The Super-Rugby match will kick off at 735 pm at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday, February 15, 2019. Roy Krishna and Sarpreet Singh are two players of Indian origin who are in Team Wellington Phoenix, which has never lost game at the Auckland venue.
The Blues will battle the Crusaders the following day (Saturday February 16, 2019) at 735 pm.

Wellington Phoenix General Manager David Dome described it as ‘a record that cannot be touted by many teams.’
“As a Club, we are thrilled that we can return to New Zealand’s most iconic sporting stadium. We have played at Eden Park on five previous occasions and are yet to lose. Wellington Phoenix does not fear any team; we have already beaten a full strength Victory in the pre-season and with a big Auckland crowd behind us, we know we can do it again,” he said.

Eden Park CEO Nick Sautner is excited that the biggest Club of A-League will be playing at the Stadium.
“We are pleased to have secured an opportunity to offer Aucklanders a jam-packed weekend of sport at our iconic Auckland stadium and showcase our first-class ability to turn around the venue quickly. The introduction of premier football in next year’s event calendar is a testament to our desire to modernise and attract visitors from all across the city,” he said.

Eden Park is New Zealand’s National Stadium and a globally-iconic arena, located in central Auckland. Eden Park Trust, which owns the Stadium, operates as a statutory, not-for-profit body corporate, registered as a Charitable Trust.
