Young scholar due in Auckland

One of the well-known exponents of Sanatana Dharma (Eternal Bond) will be in Auckland next week to deliver discourses.

Dushyanth Sridhar, one of the youngest scholars interpreting the Vedas and Puranas of ancient India, will engage his audience on the significance of piety, righteousness and service to humanity this weekend.

Auckland Bhaktha Sangeerthana Samajam (ABSS) is organising the two-day lecture at Mt Roskill Intermediate School Hall located on Denbigh Avenue on October 4 (English Discourse on ‘Bhaja Govindam,’ propounded by Adi Shankaracharya) at 6 pm and on October 5 (‘Harikatha’ in Tamil, ‘Narayaneeyam’ and description of the famous Guruvayur Temple in Kerala) from 10 am.

The event is free for all.

Distinguished Scientist

Born in Bangalore and educated in Chennai, Shri Dushyant is a graduate in Chemical Engineering and a postgraduate in Chemistry from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (Pilani). He is currently employed at Tata Consultancy Services.

His sound knowledge of the ancient scriptures, Hindu philosophy and related subjects make him a regular speaker on several leading television channels.

He has had a combined audience of more than 1 million at his 700 discourses delivered in 23 cities across the world. Known for his musical prowess and humour, he has brought solace to a cross-section of communities.

Pious Group

Established about four years ago by a group of devotees in Auckland, ABSS is committed to respecting cultural diversity and encouraging people to follow the Hindu religion, its practices and the rich Vedic heritage of India.

“We celebrate Hindu festivals on such dates and times as they fall as prescribed by the Hindu scriptures and rites. We are also committed to inviting theologians, Bhajan and spiritual singers to give lectures on render songs on Hinduism,” they said.
