Sanaya Master –
The excitement is building up; in about eight months from now, young Zoroastrians from all over the world will be flying to Auckland to attend the Sixth World Zoroastrian Youth Congress, the most anticipated event in the Zoroastrian Community.
The six-day event will be held at Kings College in Otahuhu from December 28, 2015 to January 2, 2016, promising an experience of a lifetime to all delegates.
The World Zoroastrian Youth Congress (WZYC) aims to cultivate a better understanding of the ancient Zoroastrian religion amongst the youth as well as provide an opportunity for young Zoroastrians from all over the world to network at social and professional levels.
The WZYC is held every four years in different host countries and we in Auckland are privileged to host the sixth quadrennial event.
The delegates will be taken on a journey that will engage and motivate them to embrace New Zealand’s treasured culture, enhance Zoroastrianism’s unique traditions and evolve to create a united future. In addition, the Congress will host world-renowned speakers, who aim to empower and encourage the youth to add to the great Zoroastrian legacy.
At press time, more than 200 delegates from Australia, USA, Canada, UK, India, Iran and New Zealand had registered to attend the Congress.
The Congress is open to all Zoroastrians aged from 15 to 35. The casual rate applicable for Registration is available until August 16 2015.
