Youngster makes the community proud

A young girl in Canterbury has brought pride and joy with her achievements in sports not only to her family and friends but also to the larger communities.

Nishitha Maarka has a string of successes in Tennis.

She was the winner at the first tournament that she has played outside the country, the 11 and Under Girls Singles at the 2018 Better Tennis Frankston Junior Easter Masters tournament held in Melbourne, Australia, from March 30 to April 2, 2018.

She was a runner-up at the Bendigo Tennis Association 2018 McDonalds Classic 10 and Under Girls Singles Tournament played in Melbourne.

There was no stopping for this enthusiastic and energetic girl from getting Gold as she went on to rise as the winner of the 10 and Under Girls Doubles Tournament, with her doubles partner Yasmin Matthew.

The event started on April 11 and concluded on April 14, 2018.

About ten days later, on April 24, 2018, Nishitha scored Silver as she became a runner up at the Tennis Central Tier 2 Technifibre Junior Open 2018 Girls 10 and under Singles in Wellington.

The three-day Open Tournament concluded on April 27, 2018.
