Indian-Australian Entrepreneur, Creative Director and Performer Aarti Bajaj has been announced as a finalist in the category of Business Leader or Professional of the Year in the prestigious India Australia Business & Community Awards (IABCA).

The Awards, sponsored by Trade & Investment Queensland Government, Australian Football League (AFL), HomeWorld, Incredible India, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences and ICC T20 World Cup 2020 celebrate the Australia-India relationship, while honouring entrepreneurship and community leadership.

Ms Bajaj, a Gold Coast-based mother-of-two and medical sonographer, is not only the creative director of ground-breaking production Company Wild Dreamer Productions and lead performer in the stage spectacular ‘Meera,’ but also Director of the soon-to-be-launched international creative arts collective, ‘9 Expressions.’

“It feels wonderful to be an Indian-Australian, and to be recognised for my commitment to breaking barriers in the world of the arts in Australia, and around the world,” Ms Bajaj said.

Highly Contested Year

2019 has been an incredibly highly contested year with nearly 300 entries received across twelve categories, and as such a huge task over eight weeks for the panel of experts to deliberate over this list. IABCA currently has an Alumni of 1400 members from across Australia and India.

The annual IABCA Gala will be hosted at Howard Smith Wharves in Brisbane on Friday, October 11, 2019, with an invite-only event for the IABCA Stars on Friday, August 16, 2019 taking place amidst the Apollo 11 exhibit at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences in Sydney.

Dignitaries at the exclusive

This exclusive event will be held in the presence of Indian High Commissioner Dr A M Gondane, Member of Parliament Julian Leeser and Trade, Tourism and Investment Minster Simon Birmingham.

“It is an honour just to be invited to this prestigious event, let-alone be selected as a finalist for such a highly-regarded award. It is not easy to juggle my medical, artistic, creative, entrepreneurial and Mummy life together but most days I win, and it’s all because of my amazing Wild Dreamer Productions team and continuous support I get from my super- supportive husband and loving children,” Ms Bajaj said.
