Awards sponsors call for wider participation

Entries to Seventh Annual Awards open today (March 1) and close on August 31, 2014. Entry forms (Part 1 and 2) covering 12 individual categories can be downloaded from our Awards website www.inliba.com

Potential entrants would have the benefit of attending free workshops to be held in Auckland in May, June and July 2014.

BNZ (Title Sponsor)

BNZ Indian Community Banking Head Ansuya Naidoo said that the Bank is proud to be the Title Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.

“INLIBA is currently the only forum where all Indian businesses gather, with the number of guests increasing every year. Last year, approximately 900 businesspeople attended, representing a broad spectrum of New Zealand’s Indian businesses and industries,” she said.

Ms Naidoo said that BNZ is committed to supporting the growing communities that make up the changing face of Auckland and New Zealand.

“The Awards scheme encourages Indian businesses to have sound business plans and strategies in place. I urge business leaders in the community to nominate and invite their Indian clients to participate in this year’s awards,” she said.

As well as being the Title Sponsor, BNZ is the Sponsor of the ‘Best Large Business Award and the Supreme Business Award of the Year.’

KPMG (ICT Excellence)

KPMG Managing Partner IT Services Chandan Ohri said that his firm is privileged to continue its association with INLIBA 2014 and to sponsor the ‘Business Excellence in ICT’ Award.

“The Indian Business community makes a vital contribution to New Zealand’s economy and no more so than in the Information and Communications Technology sector. At the 2013 Awards Night, we were proud to present Darius Mistry, Managing Director of Imagetext Systems Integrators, with the ‘Business Excellence in ICT’ Award. This Company has been at the forefront of providing seamless technology integration to businesses for over 25 years,” he said.

AON New Zealand (Young Entrepreneur)

Aon, the largest insurance broking and risk consulting company in New Zealand (with 730 staff and 76 branches) is the Sponsor of the ‘Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award this year.

The Company’s Corporate Accounts Manager Jeffery Nathan said that the Aon team is committed to providing New Zealand business with the best service and advice on insurance.

“Aon is the leading broker to the corporate, public, primary, manufacturing, transport and SME sectors. The Company provides a comprehensive range of personal products for customers, including House, Contents, Car and Life Insurance,” he said.

NZCC (Export to India)

“If the 2013 Indian Business Awards was anything to go by, the 2014 Edition will be a cracker,” New Zealand Career College (NZCC) Managing Director Feroz Ali said.

NZCC has been the Sponsor of the ‘Business Excellence in Export to India Category’ since 2011. With export education becoming a large income-earner for New Zealand, the success of Private Training Establishments such as NZCC as providers of quality programmes and courses with qualified staff is central to the economy.

Mr Ali invited those involved in Retailing or Project Management to host a graduate intern for nine weeks in the latter half of 2014.

“The unpaid internship is a core requirement for students to complete their Level 7 Diploma in Applied Management at NZCC. I see the offering of internships to local businesses, especially those involved in or aspiring towards exporting, to be of mutual benefit to the organisation and the student. It allows those in business to explore an area of potential growth, whilst providing the student with New Zealand work experience,” he said.
