New Zealanders wound back their clocks early this morning, and it was welcome relief for some.

Officially, clocks turned back one hour at 2 am this (Sunday) morning

Marlborough dairy farmer Evan White is among thousands of dairy farmers whose morning milking sessions end before Sunrise.

Mr White said the Sun was not up when he was milking at 730 am yesterday (Saturday) morning and was looking forward to the change.

“It is quite strange to be finishing milking and have it still dark for tractor work and feeding out. I just look forward to it finishing, be inside a bit earlier with the family and have that light a little bit earlier in the morning,” he said.

Daylight Saving will begin again on September 29, 2019.
