Election Office ready to conduct polling in Fiji

Suva, Fiji, June 10, 2018

Fijian Elections Office is all set to conduct General Election and waiting for the government to announce the date.

Elections Supervisor Mohamed Saneem has confirmed completion of the registration process of seven political parties competing at the polls.

He said that these seven parties have met all the electoral requirements and hence have been given the approval to contest the election.

The Parties

The Parties include Fiji First, Fiji Labour Party, National Federation Party, Social Democratic Liberal Party, People’s Democratic Party, Freedom Alliance and Unity Fiji.

Mr Saneem said that his Office has completed the preparatory work.

“A Call Centre will be activated to assist voters with the election processes should the need arise. An SMS platform has also been activated. People can text their voter number to 1500 to check their polling venue,” Mr Saneem said.
