Free Yoga classes this weekend in Auckland

Yoga enthusiasts including beginners could take advantage of free classes being conducted on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Auckland to mark the shifting of ‘The Yoga in Daily Life Society New Zealand.
The Society is moving to 117 Arthur Street in Onehunga, which is a suburb close to Central Auckland and hence convenient to most people.
Classes for all
Classes will be held at 9 am, suitable for people with Yoga experience who are also healthy and fit, while ‘Prenatal Class’ will be held 1045 am for people with no experience.

Authentic and Original Yoga
A Pooja ceremony will be held at 5 pm to ‘sanctify the Ashram and Teaching Space, followed by brief speeches and a Concert by Swami Madhuram Puri, reportedly a Master in ‘uplifting meditative music.’ He will perform on ‘Bansuri’ (Indian Classical Flutes) and ‘Shakuhachi (Japanese Classical Flute).
Improving wellness
A notification said that following several years of authentic and traditional practice of Yoga in suburban Community Centres, a base was established in the Onehunga Mall in 2010.
“Regular practitioners, including beginners have been drawn from various parts of Auckland to the classical teaching of Yoga, including breathing and concentration techniques,” it said.
Classes are conducted on all days of the week, enabling students to choose as per their convenience. The new Ashram offers a bigger hall for practice and is closer to the Town Centre of Onehunga with car park facility nearby.

“For more than 25 years, the ‘Yoga in Daily Life Society of New Zealand’ has been bringing health and wellbeing to communities in Aotearoa. The ancient wisdom describing how to balance body, mind and soul is brought to people of all walks of life through Yoga classes and programmes in Auckland, Wellington and Kapiti. Divided into an 8 Level-Master System, the teachings help thousands of people to regain physical, mental social and spiritual health,” the notification said.

Yoga in Daily Life is a worldwide, not-for-profit organisation.
Its founder, Vishwaguru Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda brought the teachings of his lineage to Europe about 50 years ago, and from there the teachings have spread all over the world with Ashrams and Yoga Centres in 24 countries spanning the East and the West, promoting health and wellbeing, world peace and spiritual development for mankind and engaging in numerous humanitarian projects.
