With their penchant for offering ‘something different’ to stimulate community interest, Rambutan Media Works New Zealand Limited Directors Yugendran Vasudevan and Hayma Malini Yugendran (nee Radakrishna) are organising ‘Miss Heritage 2021’ and ‘Mrs Heritage 2021’ next month.

The gala Black-Tie Evening, featuring the pageant and the musical prowess of Yugendran and other local singers and young dancers, will be held at Uxbridge Arts & Culture located at 35 Uxbridge Road, Mellons Bay, Howick, East Auckland on Friday, February 12, 2021.

Tickets, priced for $40 per adult and $35 per child (under 10 years), can be purchased from Eventbrite by clicking here.

Tickets include light refreshments and drinks will be available at the cash bar.

Entry to the contest is open to women of Indian and Sri Lankan origin.

An Empowerment Journey

Yugendran described the event as ‘Empowerment Journey’ with a marked difference.

“Unlike most other beauty contests which specify height and other features, Miss Heritage 2021 and Mrs Heritage 2021 is about ‘positive body image’ and would not require the contestants to conform to any prescribed beauty concepts. The only prerequisite is that they should be confident about themselves the culture they represent,” he said.

The Winners in each of the categories will be presented with Cash and Trophy.

In addition, they will have opportunity to be featured on Social Media and YouTube channels on the Rambutan Media Works platforms.

Yugendran said that the pageant will have 10 finalists in the Miss Heritage 2021 Category and 15 in the Mrs Heritage 2021 Category.
