We are happy to announce that Ethnic Communities Minister Jenny Salesa will be the Master of Ceremonies at the Eighth Annual Indian Newslink Sir Anand Satyanand Lecture to be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Pullman Hotel, Auckland.
The Warehouse Group Founder-Chairman and Team New Zealand Chair Sir Stephen Tindall will be the Guest Speaker at this year’s Lecture.
Former Governor General of New Zealand and former Commonwealth Foundation Chairman Sir Anand Satyanand will give an overview on the Lecture series, while former Labour MP and former Special Envoy of the Commonwealth Secretary General to the Kingdom of Lesotho, Dr Rajen Prasad will give his ‘Reflections’ on the Lecture.
Lady Susan Satyanand, several other dignitaries, Judges of High Courts and District Courts, Barristers, Solicitors, lawyers, corporate chiefs and senior managers of the government, public and private sectors and agencies will attend the event.
About Jenny Salesa
Ms Salesa has been an elected Member of Parliament from the Manukau East Electorate since 2014. Upon the formation of the Labour-led Coalition government following the general election held on September 20, 2017, she was appointed Minister of Ethnic Communities, Minister of Building and Construction, Associate Minister of Education, Health, Housing and Urban Development.
She was earlier Principal Advisor (Pacific) at the Tertiary Education Commission.
A graduate from the University of Auckland with a BA/LLB degree, she has more 20 years of experience in Policy and Funding.
She also worked in the United States of America on evidence-based health initiatives.
Married to University of Auckland Associate Professor Toeolesulusulu Damon Salesa, the couple have two children.
