This is an excellent effort by Sunita Kosna Garu and her husband Vijay Kosna Garu based in Auckland. The Prayer Song, rendered by Sowjanya Sunkari, has been written by Sunita Gaur with music composed by Asta Gangadhar (Nizamabad, Telangana) and tuned by Wilson in Warangal, now in Telangana, once the capital of the Kakatiya Dynasty.

With visuals of the Tirupathi-Tirumalai Temples and the Sanctum Sanctorum shown throughout the song, the singer asks Lord Venkateswara, “Oh. Lord of the Seven Hills, why are You so quiet as the world gets devastated by the Coronavirus? Please save humanity!”

The song incorporates a Special Appeal to Lord Venkateswara to redeem the world from the deadly Covid-19.

About Lord Venkateswara

Lord Venkateswara, also known as Srinivasa, Balaji, Venkata, Venkata Ramana, Venkatachalapathy, Tirupathi Timmappa and Govinda, is a form of the Hindu God, Lord Maha Vishnu.
Lord Venkateswara is the Presiding Deity of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple located atop seven hills of Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh, South India.
‘Venkateswara means, ‘Lord of Venkata.’ The Word is a combination of ‘Venkata, (the name of the hill in Andhra Pradesh) and ‘Eswara’ (meaning Lord).
According to the Brahmanda and Bhavishyottara Puranas, ‘Venkata’ means ‘Destroyer of Sins,’ derived from ‘Vem’ (sins) and ‘Kata’ (power of immunity).

The Tirupathi Temple is considered to be one of the richest Temples in India, with assets worth more than US$ 20 billion. It attracts more than 40 million worshippers every year, a majority of them waiting in long-winding queues for up to 24 hours or more to have a two-second Dharshan of the Main Deity. Yet, devotees believe that a glimpse of the Lord in itself is the greatest blessing in their lives.
