The royal couple will be arriving at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park soon for a wreath-laying ceremony.
It’s clear a large portion of the crowd is here to see Meghan (but Harry’s alright too).

The royal correspondent for UK-based tabloid The Sun describes the events at Government House.

WATCH: Harry is invited to pick up a dagger after a challenge by three warriors. The chief warrior shows Harry is accepted by hitting his thigh and then Harry & Meghan are called forward.

Meghan receives a traditional welcome at the Government House

Harry and Meghan have been greeted with a ceremony of welcome on the lawns of Government House.

 


They were welcome with haka and hongi – and a 21 gun salute.

About 2000 people are at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park, where the Duke and Duchess will be taking part in a wreath-laying ceremony later this afternoon.

Word has it the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived at Government House in Wellington for their official welcome.

This is the content we are here for. Some great shots of Meghan and Harry getting off the plane and saying hello to PM Jacinda Ardern.
According to reporters on the scene, it was a lovely double-handed handshake between Meghan and Jacinda.
