Rotary Foundation, Cancer Society of New Zealand, St John and Starship Hospital will be among the beneficiaries of a fundraising dinner scheduled to be held from 7 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Alexandra Park in Greenlane, Auckland.

Ethnic Communities Minister Jenny Salesa will be the Chief Guest at the event titled, ‘Indian Diaspora Night & Fund-Raising Dinner,’ organised by the Rotary Club of Papatoetoe Central in South Auckland.

Club President Dr S Ajit said that Rotary Papatoetoe Central hoped to raised $50,000 at the fundraising event.

Indian Diaspora Night

“The theme of the night is ‘Indian Diaspora’ to recognise and applaud the success and achievement of New Zealanders of Indian origin. The Indian community is one of the fastest growing communities in New Zealand and its contribution in every field towards the growth and success of New Zealand is recognised and cannot be ignored,” he said.

Dr Ajit said that the Club invites sponsors to raise funds for the organisations which are involved in the public health sector.

“Established in 2015, Rotary Papatoetoe Central Club is a part of Rotary District 9920 in New Zealand. Rotary is a well-established organisation all around the world, where likeminded people come together to serve the community,” he said.

Community Service

He said that Rotary members make a great contribution to our community, in time, by physical effort and through their fundraising endeavours.

“We also support a large number of projects, both internationally and in our local community. However, these projects also require the generous donations of philanthropic members of the local business community,” Dr Ajit said.

Further information about the forthcoming event can be obtained from Dr S Ajit on 021-91325 or Nitika Chanda (Secretary) on 021-1514024.
