Key Successes

The practice has succeeded because it has steadily grown over the past 21 years since its establishment on May 4, 1992.

Shobhna firmly believes in her slogan of providing Trusted Legal Services and Advice. She has maintained that one of the driving factors to the success of the practice has included the huge loyalty factor of her existing clients.

The practice is proud to record that its first clients are still clients of the firm today. It is all about understanding the clients’ needs and being able to provide quality service.

Making a difference

Shobhna’s vision is to make a difference to her clients by understanding the particular need or problem, and to provide legal solutions tailored to those needs. She sees her clients long-term – it is quality focused and as such, the provision of legal services to clients as a process of educating them about their rights and obligations.

Shobhna understands and acknowledges that going to see a lawyer can be a seriously daunting process for clients. As such, the Firm can be seen as a stepping-stone for clients where they can telephone for free legal advice, whether this is to reinforce what clients are thinking, or to guide them as to their options. An initial free consultation service in her office can be arranged by appointment.

Strong goals

Shobhna’s aims and goals continue to be (a) The delivery of outstanding service to clients and establishing longterm relationships (b) Delivery with integrity, honesty and absolute professionalism in all dealings (c) Acting in the best interest of the client (d) Maintaining client confidentiality as a requisite of the legal profession (e) Remaining committed to continuous improvement of the firms services now and in the future (f) Being accessible to clients.

In a nutshell, being a totally service-based firm.

Shobhna was nominated to the ‘Best Professional Businessperson of the Year’ and her firm Golian Legal to the ‘Best Professional Services Business’ categories in the first Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards held on November 19, 2008. It was because of her suggestion (to Indian Newslink, Organiser of the Awards Programme) that all finalists are now fully acknowledged by the independent panel of judges.

Professional bodies

Shobhna is a current member of both the New Zealand Law Society and The Auckland District Law Society Inc; accredited member of the Property Law Section New Zealand Law Society; current member of the Auckland Women Lawyers Association (AWLA).
