A former Member of the Aam Aadmi Party (Common Man’s Party) has released a song that vents the frustration of a number of supporters and members against the Party’s leadership and its penchant for power rather than the welfare of the people.

Chicago (USA) based Neonatologist Dr Munish Raizada has released ‘Bol Re Dilli Bol’ under Ditto Music label.

Rendered by Kailash Kher,  a singer known for his powerful voice, the song shows visuals of the ‘broken promises of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal,’ poor governance and the chagrin of thousands of men and women living India’s capital city.

Web Series coming

The song, composed by Parvesh Mallick, is a part of an upcoming web series called, ‘Transparency: Pardarshita’ produced and directed by Dr Raizada for Munish Raizada Films.

He said that the film is about India Against Corruption (IAC) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

“I have been a part of AAP. The song, ‘Bol Re Dilli Bol,’ begins with ‘Jhoot Bol Ke Chhali Gayi Tu’ (‘You went away telling lies’), and portrays the sentiments of common people who have been deceived by systematic erosion of the principles of AAP,” Dr Raizada said.

The AAP was a result of ‘Anna Aandolan,’ a crusade led by Anna Hazare Kisan Baburao Hazare (affectionately called ‘Anna’), an ex-soldier of the Indian Army who later raised a movement against corruption in government and public offices.

Disappointing leaders

AAP proclaimed that it would provide ‘alternative politics’ and a clean administration.

Dr Raizada said that he and others were disappointed that AAA has disregarded its core principles of financial transparency, inner party democracy and internal vigilance.

“When we reminded our leaders of this erosion, they argued that their focus was on governance in Delhi. Governance is a very subjective topic. When Rabri Devi (wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav) was the Chief Minister Bihar, did that State go to ruins? What difference did Delhi see under Arvind Kejriwal, did it become London?  Governance is a continuous process and there are ups and downs to it,” he said.

Principles eroded

Dr Raizada’s charge is that AAP did not come about only to govern,

What made the Party different was its principles, he said.

“People had faith and hope in the principles but the Party leaders have played with the sentiments of the public by dismantling its principles. However, ‘Bol Re Dilli Bol’ should not be construed as propaganda or personal disgruntlement. It is a creation of art and a reflection of the dismay of Party’s core volunteers only,” he said.
