Telangana Association plans Music and Comedy Night

Auckland based Telangana Association of New Zealand is organising its ‘Telugu Comedy and Entertainment Night’ on Saturday, October 4, 2019 at Dorothy Winstone Centre of Auckland Girls Grammar School, Howe Street in Auckland City.

The Programme, which is scheduled to be held from 630 pm to 930 pm, will include performances by Singers Madhu Priya and Jangi Reddy and Comedians Kevvu Karthik and ‘Rocking’ Rakesh.

Tickets, priced at $20 per adult and $10 per child can be purchased at www.eventbrite.co.nz

Association President Narender Reddy Patlola said that the artistes arriving from India are known for their proficiency in their respective fields and are good entertainers.

Vibrancy of Culture

“Telangana Association is keen to showcase the vibrancy of culture and variety of talent in Telangana to New Zealanders. We presented the inherent talent within our community in Auckland at the First Annual Indian Newslink Festivals of South India (of which our Association was one of the Organisers). The forthcoming show brings together performers making a mark in the fields of art, culture, cinema and television back home,” he said.

Madhu Priya

A rising star of the Telugu film industry, Madhu Priya is a  playback singer. She became popular on Telugu television with her folk song ‘Adapillanamma Nenu Adapilanani.’

Some of the songs that have brought her credit since her debut in 2011 are ‘Pedda Puli’ (sung for the Telugu film, ‘Daggaraga Dooranga’), ‘Vachinde’ (‘Fidaa’), ‘Raaye Raaye’ (‘Touch Chesi Chudu’), ‘Nela Ticket’ (‘Nela Ticket’) and ‘Cheliya Choose’ (Saakshyam).

Madhu was a participant at the Telugu Reality TV Show Bigg Boss Telugu.

Jangi Reddy runs his own Folk Band, while Kevvu Karthik and ‘Rocking Rakesh’ are noted for their performances in ‘Jabardasth,’ a popular Telugu television show in Telangana.
