Judges Comment:

With more than 40 senior club rugby games for Ponsonby alone, it has been a meteoric rise for the 22-year-old Rocky Khan.

His senior rugby-playing career commenced with Grammar-Carlton. Soon thereafter, he had an opportunity to play for Ponsonby, a club that has produced many of the greatest sports personalities.

The outstanding playmaker has acknowledged as “A player with potential,” following impressive tournaments for Auckland at the National Sevens in Queenstown in the last two years.

Rocky’s tremendous footwork, vision and pace have been recognised by Sevens Coach Gordon Tietjens as well as The Fiji Rugby Union High performance Unit. Rocky has played in various invitational Sevens tournaments around the world representing the Auckland Under 16 Team, the New Zealand Secondary Schools Sevens team, the Auckland Sevens Team and the Auckland B Squad.
