Indian Newslink joins thousands of people in New Zealand and other parts of the world in condoling the death of 2degrees Mobile Limited Chief Executive Eric Hertz and his wife Kathy.
The couple died following the crash of the aircraft piloted by Mr Hertz, off the Raglan coast on March 31. New Zealand Navy divers discovered their bodies on April 7, after eight days of intensive search. Their funeral was held on April 10.
Communications and Information Technology Minister Amy Adams said, “Our thoughts are with Eric and Kathy’s family, friends, and the team at 2degrees as they come to terms with this terrible tragedy.
We fondly remember the friendly and smiling man who attended the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards Presentation Night held on November 14, 2011 at Sky City Convention Centre.
Sharing the stage with Prime Minister John Key and others, Mr Hertz gave away the ‘Best Small & Medium-Sized Business’ Award (sponsored by his Company) to the winner (Spice N Easy).
Ms Adams said that he enjoyed his work and life in New Zealand and loved travelling around the country.
“He has been an integral part of the creation and growth of 2degrees, and there are hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders who are today benefiting from Eric’s vision and commitment,” she said.
2degrees Corporate Affairs Director Mat Bolland said that Mr Hertz joined the Company in 2009, following his leadership role at ‘Zumobi,’ a mobile application firm in the US and that his experience spanned 30 years in six countries.
“Eric and Kathy gained New Zealand residency recently. Kathy was also passionate about her new home, working closely with AUT and providing us with sound counsel on community initiatives,” he said.
