We are happy to announce that nominations are now open for the Fifth Annual Rainbow Corner Group and Indian Newslink Sports & Community Awards 2018.
That moment is approaching for persons of Indian origin to be recognised for their contribution to sport and community activities.
Emerging, Young and Veteran Sports Achievers will be honoured at the Awards Night scheduled to be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Alexandra Park, Greenlane, Auckland.
New Zealand Indian Central Association (NZICA) is the Support Sponsor, bringing experience and expertise of its officials and members.
Logistical challenges had forced a temporary suspension of the Awards for two years.
The Awards are back in a revitalised format, including honours for those involved in community contribution.
Indian Newslink has been persistent in its efforts to recognise people excelling in sports and community involvement. This comes alongside the increasing popularity of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards (now in its eleventh year) that honours the success of businesses of Indian origin.
The value of a recognition is immeasurable to the one who receives it.
The Awards Scheme provides a platform for the individual’s family to celebrate the sacrifices they make as well as an evening for friends and supporters to applaud the success of persons they constantly support.
Pride and Joy
It is an occasion of pride and joy for all involved.
Felicitations are well deserved and individuals often prove to be role models for others, providing much-needed inspiration.
Sports embrace a socio-political significance by helping to connect the community, friends and family with an emotional bond. Through a committed sports coverage, Indian Newslink has been able to bring into limelight the achievements of sports personalities of Indian origin with abundance of talent and potential.
The joy and confidence that budding stars will get from a community based recognition cannot be described in words. The Awards await their rightful recipients.
Entries, direct or nominated, open on July 15 and will run until September 15, 2018.
Nominations can be made by Sports Clubs, Sports Associations, Coaches, Umpires, Referees, Parents, Teachers, Community and Social Organisations and others well-known to the candidates. Please refer to the advertisement on the back page of this issue and then visit our website www.inlisa.com.
