Dr Kumar Vishwas due in New Zealand

Residents of New Zealand in general and Wellingtonians and Aucklanders in particular would have a unique experience of engaging with a colourful personality in their midst at an exclusive event this weekend.

Dr Kumar Vishwas, renowned throughout the world as a bard, comedian and an orator will be the star attraction at Langham Hotel in Auckland on Saturday, September 5, 2015.

Aariya Entertainment is presenting the programme called ‘The Night of Laughter, Poetry and Humour,’ commencing at 730 pm with RK Cars. The duration of such events is decided by the mood of the audience rather than the ticking of the clock.

Dr Vishwas is also due to appear at the Wellington High School, 249 Taranaki Street, Mt Cook, Wellington on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 8 pm.

Great Expectations

A globetrotter pursuing literary excellence and qualitative entertainment, Dr Vishwas reportedly has 2.8 million followers on Facebook. His maiden visit to New Zealand has raised expectations among a cross-section of our diverse communities.

It is hard to predict what an international artist, who is at once a singer, poet, stand-up comedian, speaker and politician would do at an event that would boast of an elite audience but those who have experienced his ‘Koi Deewana Kehta Hai’ and ‘Hotho Par Ganga Ho, Hatho Me Tiranga Ho’ say that he has changed the definition of Poetic performances.

Top Poet

“He is the top poet in today’s India of 1.26 billion people – a country that has given some of the greatest poets in various languages to the literary world. As well as appearing in public concerts, Dr Vishwas presents his programmes to multinationals including Adobe Systems, Google Inc, and Unilever Limited, apart from visiting a number of globally respected institutions such as Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Calgary, Stanford University, and many Socio-cultural forums.”

Meteoric Rise

According to information made available to us, Dr Vishwas rose as a silver lining and as the fresh air of spring to take people by surprise and pleasure at the same time. He has set records as a poet, performer and motivator, with a continuing saga of success.

Literary Collections

His mastery over poetry has earned for him prominence and eminence as a resplendent author in Hindi. His first book, ‘Ik Pagli Ladki Ke Bin’ (1996) became an instant success, earning the respect as ‘Collectors’ Item,’ while the second, called, ‘Koi Deewana Kehta Hai’ (2007) became a best-seller, setting new benchmarks in the history of book sales in India. Three years later, it became an important aspect of numerous literary events, book fairs and other places of public congregation.

His third collection of poems, called, ‘Khudrang’ is currently under publication.

Celebrated Columnist

Known as a poet of Romantic Genre (‘Shringar Ras’), Dr Vishvas has been a regular columnist for several publications. His successful endeavor with the pen has attracted several projects in the Hindi film industry. He is currently working on 12 films writing lyrics, stories, screenplays, scripts and dialogues, in addition to television serials. Industry insiders say that he would influence the success of these films.

Social Activist

While he has been a strong advocate of youth empowerment taking part in programmes and projects that educate younger members of the society to understand and undertake their social and community responsibility, he is also a social activist, speaking out on the issues confronting the society.

Among his strong advocacy theories is the ‘Development of National Character,’ which extend to good governance, governments free of corruption, communities free of crime and homes free of violence.

People’s Movement

He was attracted to the ‘Jan Lok Pal’ Movement launched by Anna Hazare in 2011. He was seen promoting the concept of efficient administration, quality public service and good behaviour by civil servants, not only through his poetic creations but also through speeches and participation in public meetings.

He joined hands with his friends Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal in popularising the ‘Jan Lok Pal’ Movement. This engagement brought him to mainstream social activism, later to herald his entry into the political world.

The Jan-Lokpal Movement has now become ‘Aam Aadmi Party,’ a political entity, which currently rules the State of Delhi, having won the general election (held in February 2015) with an unprecedented majority on February 10, 2015, the day on which results were announced. Indubitably, Dr Vishwas is one of the most known faces of the Party.

Successful Communicator

His exceptional skill as a great communicator has brought rich dividends to the organisations and events which Dr Vishwas has been involved over the years.

According to reviews, “His motivational skills are exceptionally brilliant and succeed in driving the crowd. He understands that the huge young energy that assembles in his concerts, needs to be channelised positively. Along with mesmerising verses, he witfully conveys the philosophies of life as well. People of all age groups idolise him.”
