In recognition of the contribution to the economy Indian businesses make, the National Bank is sponsoring the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2010, to be held on November 15.
“The National Bank is delighted to be involved,” says Andrew Webster, the National Bank’s Regional Manager, Business Banking.
“The Awards are one way in which we can acknowledge and show our support for the role Indian businesspeople play in the community and the New Zealand economy.
“The Indian business market is a thriving and vibrant one and that is good for the business community as a whole. At the National Bank, we have helped many Indians succeed personally and in their businesses and we are committed to continuing the support,” Mr Webster said.
The National Bank has a dedicated Migrant Banking team. The National Bank’s Head of Migrant Banking Steve Savage says the Bank can help new migrants in New Zealand.

Mr Savage says that a big part of the National Bank’s success with the Indian Business community comes from having people who are part of that community. For example, many of our migrant team are migrants themselves. They speak the same language as our customers and understand the issues of starting up a new business and a new life in New Zealand.

Mr Savage says that the National Bank’s sponsorship of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2010 will help celebrate the Indian community’s success. At the 2010 Awards, the National Bank will sponsor the ‘Best Small Business’ category as well as ‘The National Bank Supreme Award.’
