It is common among owners of cars to opt for garages and work stations that do not impose exorbitant charges but since almost all of them have little or no knowledge of cars and how they can cause trouble, they can be easily misled.
“Even those purchasing latest models of cars do not wish to spend on repairs and maintenance. But if they are not careful, they would pay a high price for their decision to go cheap,” says Ashish Nand, Owner and Manager of Quattro Auto/Lube King.
The Papatoetoe-based garage specialises in oils, scanning, fitness, trans-flush, batteries, tyres, repairs, mechanical and electrical works, minor panel and rust repairs.
The workstation is also authorised to inspect vehicles for Warrants of Fitness.
Armed with 20 years of experience, 12 of which were at AA Auto Service and Repair, he established Quattro Auto/Lube King about nine months ago.
“The market is very competitive with almost every street accommodating one or two mechanical workshops. I have done well because I do not mind doing that extra mile to optimise their satisfaction,” he said.
He provides a courtesy car to customers, if they need such a facility, subject to availability. They also receive regular updates on promotions and special deals both at the workshop and as mobile Apps.
“Customers who become regular are entitled to 10% discount. I try to explain to them about the status of their vehicle and what needs to be done to keep it roadworthy. I also arrange to provide transfers from and to their homes from our Garage,” Mr Nand said.
