GirlGuiding New Zealand will stop selling its famous biscuits next year after more than six decades.
Its chief executive Susan Coleman said that the organisation wanted to allow members and volunteers to focus more on its core purpose and programmes.
No more fundraising
After careful consideration, the board had decided to stop fundraising through the sale of biscuits, she said.
The biscuits will continue to be manufactured this year and are expected to remain available for sale until early 2019.
The managing director at The Griffin’s Food Company Brett Henshaw said it had had been an honour and a privilege to have manufactured Guide Biscuits for more than 60 years.
