Kiwis can now hope for better status in Australia

Prime Minister Ardern to set the right tone

The last time a New Zealand Prime Minister visited Australia, he was a timid, submissive, self-centred leader, who sold or was silent on the rights of Kiwis in Australia.

He was rewarded in turn by Australia for being a spineless and sissy Kiwi PM (You guess who I mean).

Now, we have the first millennial Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern who visits Australia today (05.11.17) for a two-hour brunch with Malcolm Turnbull, Australian PM at Kirribilli House in Sydney.

Unlike previous New Zealand Prime Minister, Turnbull will feel that for a change, he is receiving a Prime Minister who he cannot twist on his fingers, and make her dance to his tunes the way he used to do with Sir John Key.

This PM has guts.

Even during election, Jacinda showed her mettle and refused to apologise to a boorish Julie Bishop, Australian Foreign Affairs Minister, who meddled in New Zealand politics on ‘Baa…Baa…Barnaby Joyce’ fiasco.

Bishop claimed that she would have difficulty working with Jacinda. Now, her boss is receiving her (Jacinda) for morning tea.

Jacinda had also stated during election that New Zealand would reciprocate on what Australia did to Kiwis in Australia. If they charge increased University fees for Kiwis studying there, New Zealand would retaliate in kind and charge them so.

Unlike previous Prime Ministers, Jacinda Ardern will stick to her guns over her vow to reciprocate on erosion of New Zealanders’ rights in Australia.

No other New Zealand Prime Minister had guts to say so.

That is why, New Zealand is so proud to have a Prime Minister who has the resolve to fight internationally for Kiwis.

Even as relatively weaker neighbours, Jacinda makes us proud with our smaller missiles to hit back at a bullying neighbour.

All you need is to have a leader with guts. And for a change, New Zealand has one.

Indeed, Malcolm Turnbull cannot ignore Jacinda Ardern who has specifically gone there to tell Australia to stop bullying Kiwis in Australia.

Please reciprocate the way New Zealand treats Australians in New Zealand.
